The VPPPS is a unique, comprehensive approach to the reduction of conflict, violence, crime, poverty and racism in four Chicago community areas (North Lawndale, South Lawndale, Brighton Park, Archer Heights), serving   40,000 families and 180,000 people over five to ten years. This initiative is built on partnerships between government and non government organizations, serving every family, school, health facility and community organization that wishes to participate. The approach is to link individual development to community development, working to insure human needs and human rights.  

The VPPPS is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit corporation in the State of Illinois.
